Rare antique pair of 19th Century, Lancashire, children’s leather, wood and metal clogs - these were worn by children in the cotton mills during the industrial age in England.
They are handmade from dark brown leather cowhide with hand carved wooden soles with strips of iron nailed under the toes of the clogs to protect the wooden soles. They have metal buckle clasps with ornate detailing. There are nails securing the leather to the wooden soles around the perimeter of each shoe.
They measure 14 cm / 5.5 inches long.
This pair is one of a kind.
